Emma Raducanu reached the third round in three out of four major tournaments during the season.

Britain's Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from the last two tournaments in 2025 due to a medical condition she has been fighting for the last week and a half.

The 22-year-old had planned to participate in events in Asia but chose to travel back to regain her health before starting next year's training.

These plans will include coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals have agreed to work together in 2026.

She required blood pressure checks in her opening round with Ann Li in Wuhan and stopped playing when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

She needed once more a doctor's assessment at the recent Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in round one.

She was also playing noticeably restricted in the final set against Zhu due to the lower back problem that has affected her at times this year.

Those results followed a positive campaign, in which the player advanced into the world's top 30 after more than three years for the first time since 2022, finished with a trio of defeats.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points then was defeated by Jessica Pegula in the third stage in the Beijing tournament last month.

The player achieved twenty-eight matches in the current season and reached the semi-finals in the Washington tournament, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami event in March.

Ranked first in Britain reached the quarter-finals of a premier WTA event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed on the way before losing in a three-set match to fourth-ranked Pegula.

She was coached by trainer Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role for the US Open.

The initial agreement with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was for the remainder of the year but the collaboration persists, with a training session scheduled in the coming months.

The athlete revealed that a three-day test period alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She came very close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati during August.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she made the third stage before being beaten by Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
