Iran's Declared Retaliation The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on Iran carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning. That initial attack - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on sites linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the government. Wider Impacts In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage. The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles". "UAE air defence systems responded to the projectiles with high efficiency and destroyed a several projectiles," the statement continued. The statement noted missile fragments fell on a neighborhood in the capital, causing some structural damage and killing a civilian. The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
