The President Invites Families of Shot National Guard Members to the Presidential Residence

President Trump stated on the weekend that he has invited the loved ones of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to visit the presidential home.

He added that he spoke to her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.

Details on the Devastating Shooting

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a shooting on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in serious condition.

Gatherings across the state have taken place in their honor.

Presidential Invitation

The president said he’s talked about a White House visit for the parents of both soldiers of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a difficult moment, visit the White House. We’re going to honor her,” the president informed journalists. “And likewise with Andrew, recover or not.”

Public Response

Community members gathered over the past few days at a local school in West Virginia to pay respects to Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been serving with the military unit as part of Trump’s government program to assist policing efforts in DC.

Paying Tribute to Beckstrom

“Sarah was the kind of student that teachers hoped for. She behaved with calm resilience, a bright grin and a positive energy that encouraged those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the principal of her former high school, informed the Associated Press. “She was kind, caring and always willing to support those in need.”

Funeral plans for Beckstrom are still being arranged.

Judicial Steps and Government Adjustments

Officials have accused a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of first-degree murder and charges of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

The tragedy prompted the government to halt refugee claims and cease issuing visas to holders of travel documents.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of the city, enlisted in 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, per the AP.

He continues to receive treatment and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia governor the governor stated on television.

The state’s top lawyer the attorney general stated on Fox News Sunday that she also intended to visit the family.

Legacy of Beckstrom

Sarah, from her hometown, completed her education from her high school in 2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a MP with distinction, per the military.

“She had a lot of kindness and she absolutely had courage,” Morrisey told the audience at the service. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has left a mark that’s going to be remembered always.”
